Vision

CASC is to be a church body that trains up, sends out, and supports Christ-like disciples to reach the unchurched with the love and Gospel of Jesus Christ. We will use the cell group strategy to help foster a relational environment to accomplish this vision within our families, the community/church and our vocations – all the while depending on the supernatural empowerment of the Holy Spirit in and through our lives.

1. Called to train up leaders for this and the following generations of churches to build up God’s Kingdom – we believe that God has called us to be a church that can at any time equip 10,000 agents of transformation.

2. Called to missions – both supporting and sending out, short and long term missionaries to all parts of the world.

3. Called to disciple and encourage the maturing of Christians in all stages of their walk with Christ – this is done through mentoring relationships because we believe that all Christians, no matter what stage of growth they are in are called to minister to others.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Christian Assembly of Suburban Chicago is to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to train up disciples to build up His Church through a relational, relevant and supernatural way.

Belief

Our basic beliefs are as follows:

1. The Bible to be the inspired Word of God, the Divine and final authority for Christian faith and life;

2. In one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

3. That Jesus Christ is true God and true man, having been conceived by the Virgin Mary. He arose bodily from the dead and ascended into Heaven.

4. That man was created in the same image of God but fell into sin and is therefore lost and only through regeneration by the Holy Spirit can salvation and spiritual life be obtained.

5. That the shed blood of Jesus Christ and His resurrection provide the only ground for justification and salvation for all who believe, and only such as receive Jesus Christ are born of the Holy Spirit, and thus become children of God.

6. The bodily resurrection of the death of the believer to everlasting blessedness and joy with the Lord; of the unbeliever to judgment and everlasting punishment.

7. The personal return of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Pastoral Staff

Pastor Joseph Tai
Pastor Joseph is the founder and Senior Pastor of Christian Assembly of Suburban Chicago. His passion has been to see people to grow in Jesus and become passionate about the Great Commission. Prayer ministry and teaching Christians to be “blessed to be a blessing” is his favorite message and enthusiastically sharing the good news of Jesus with anyone willing to listen has been his life long passion. Pastor Joseph’s vision now is to mobilize and train up Christians to make a difference in all walks of life – from the youngest child at home to CEO’s of major corporations – by reflecting Jesus in their lives each day. Pastor Joseph has been married for almost 40 years and has three sons and six grandchildren.

Pastor Li-Shang Tai
Pastor Li-Shang is the English Pastor of Christian Assembly of Suburban Chicago and has been ministering in the church since 1995. His work has been focused on helping the bicultural family overcome barriers it faces (i.e. generational gap, language barriers, cultural differences) and be a witness for Jesus within the community. Pastor Li-Shang’s passion has been to see young people set themselves apart for Jesus and live a worship lifestyle. “You are the Bible that other people read” has been a catch phrase that encompasses what Pastor Li-Shang has been communicating to the church and those he ministers to. Pastor Li-Shang is married and has two sons.
